AI-Based Smart Traffic Signal Optimization
Complementing our traffic planning and simulation work, the optimization of traffic signal systems using AI software plays an essential role in improving the efficiency of urban mobility. By analyzing traffic flows and integrating field data into simulation models, we design and calibrate adaptive signal cycles, coordinated along main corridors or at complex intersections.
This approach reduces waiting times, improves traffic flow during peak hours, prioritizes public transport and enhances road safety, including for pedestrians and cyclists. Smart signal control also helps reduce congestion and lower CO₂ emissions by optimizing vehicle stops and starts across the network.

Modeling and Simulation Levels
We use licensed software for traffic modeling at all levels of detail, covering the full range of scenarios — from strategic network analysis to detailed simulation of individual intersections.
- Macroscopic simulation (VISUM) — analysis of extended transport networks, demand forecasting and strategic planning
- Mesoscopic and microscopic simulation (VISSIM) — detailed analysis of intersections, corridors and urban networks
- Multimodal simulation (EMME) — integration of all transport modes into a unified model, approved by SNCFR-AFER
- Pedestrian simulation (VISWALK) — pedestrian flow analysis in stations, underpasses, commercial areas and intermodal hubs
